Calculating payroll is inescapable work in any organization. These days, the chore of physically calculating wages has been relieved by software and outsourcing. Unfortunately, the properness and accuracy of payment of wages has not improved but has slid. The reason is that a large number of payroll specialists are actually only administrators of information to be supplied for calculations. They have superficial knowledge of payroll, but very little about the actual calculations, and the laws on payroll. Many are still doubtful of allowances constituting wages or what deductions are illegal.
